I ran my first outdoor private group today (who have been training together every Thursday via Zoom) and they unanimously said afterwards: “Sooo much better together in a group than training alone at home on Zoom!”
Temporary Class Venue: Sheen Common. Richmond Park is currently closed to cars, and fitness licences suspended, so I’m not able to run group sessions there (I’m trying to find out when this might change?).
So we'll start 2 outdoor fitness classes (5 of you + me max. remember) per week on SHEEN COMMON (meet at entrance gate on Fife Road). It’s a good sized space, you can park on the road outside for free and hopefully it remains relatively central/convenient for the majority of you? NB there no public toilets.
Initial Outdoor Fitness Classes format
As we still have to respect 2m social distancing there are a number of options for safely running a class, while still capturing the essence of our regular classes and making it as varied/fun as possible. I will propose one of the following options for each class:
Option 1: Clients bring their own water & fitness equipment (exercise mat, dumbbells/’dumbbell’ bottles and resistance bands etc.) Session stays based in one location utilising clients’ kit/mat and any benches etc that are available. I could specify what bit of kit for each session?
Option 2: Clients bring no equipment or water and we use body weight and other occurring objects (e.g. bench) only. We could use grass areas and/or go on the move through Sheen Woods.
Option 3: FSF brings a resistance tube with handles for each participant that is cleaned before/after each session (and remains for your sole use during each session) but NO water. FSF will provide HAND SANITISER prior to handing out kit. If we keep to one item then we can still be in one location or on the move.
